For the true neophile, a computer is an extension of the self.  It is an organ that forms a unique symbiosis.  It is an organ than can retrieve information and process it; it can solve problems quickly; it can communicate faster and more efficiently than any of our "native" organs, and with much greater range.  THEY'RE TAKING OVER I TELL YOU!!!!

Trillian (trillian.mine.nu) is an IBM Thinkpad 385XD, 98M RAM 3.2G disk, PII-266; she sports a Neomagic 800x600x16 LCD, a Crystal CS4237B audio chipset (with a mini-subwoofer =), and one of those little keyboard nipple pointers. Originally ran Win95-OSR2; has run Slackware and Redhat Linux in the past, and will probably be Debianized when she gets back from the shop.

Zoot (zoot.static.net) was a whole jumbled mess of spare parts, with a P-90 at the core. Zoot recently um.. fried. But I saved all the cool parts... and the motherboard I'm gonna keep around for decoration.

The Beast (beast.cyberdiscordia.org) is a P-166, ~~48M~~ 64M RAM, approx. 3G storage.
